My arms are aching after a mammoth month in the print studio dying and printing the winter collection which is available in shops now. Here are some pics to wet your appetite.
The latest line offers powerful prints in a rich array of colours.
There are three design styles, polka dots, roses and subtle geometrics. Each accessory consists of a two colour print and the silk scarves have been beautifully finished with a stroke of gold. The silks are all hand finished with a rolled hem. The cotton handkerchiefs are sold individually and presented in a hand printed sleeve.
These designs are offered for this season only and will not be produced again, so if anything catches your eye, you’d better grab it quick! Stockists so far are Soma in Clifton village, Makers Colston Street and they will also be available to buy online from the Studio Amour website very soon, so keep posted.
Dying the silks, drying the screen, mixing the inks, testing the colours. Preparing to print the winter collection.
I’ve been working on this one-off scarf design to commemorate this weekend’s Diamond Jubilee and it’s been submitted to Selvedge magazine as part of a competition.
I hand dyed the silk and then spent many days and nights layering colours to create this geometric diamond pattern incorporating 25 different colours.
Temwa’s objective is to help build a sustainable future for the people of Malawi through community based projects in health education, sustainable agriculture & forestry, schools support and skills training.
Studio Amour will be part of the Temwa Art For Africa 2012 annual auction this saturday. We have donated 8 different artists prints, including my own work to help raise funds for the community development projects in Malawi.
This is such a great organisation and needs all your support so please make sure you get down to the show and delve deep! See you all there.
Heads up! I will be exhibiting at the exciting Print to the People’s latest project at the Stew Gallery in Norwich and making the trip down with three printed silks especially for the show.
” We are very pleased to announce the following 42 artists, collectives and independent businesses will be exhibiting a range of screen printed 2D and 3D pieces, installations, textiles and ceramics as part of 2012 ”
