I’ve been working on this one-off scarf design to commemorate this weekend’s Diamond Jubilee and it’s been submitted to Selvedge magazine as part of a competition.
I hand dyed the silk and then spent many days and nights layering colours to create this geometric diamond pattern incorporating 25 different colours.
I’ve just got the photos back from the Kiss Me Quick pop up boutique held last month organised by Studio Amour. For those that missed out here is a quick round up.
It was an amazingly crisp Spring day, music drifted throughout the house. One hundred spring daffodils stood in vases and brightly coloured silks hung from floor to ceiling. Printed goodies adorned every available surface. It was the blossoming of a fresh range of limited edition prints, and greetings cards which were snapped up by keen followers. Every one that attended left with hart shapped lollies…and the sound of Édith Piaf ringing in their ears.

Just started a new job for a menswear label in London, Blakwren. This is my first print its going to be cut up and used to make a t shirt, it was a beast to print.
Printing black gloss on to shirt fabric, another design done and dusted so much more to do.
Screen print on silk 200cm x 100cm. I went to town on this one today and feel happier with the overall look. Japanese blossoms, gold frogs jumping in, lots of mark making, layer after layer of screens…its finished.
I’v been working on ideas for a commission. Japanese theme. I dyed the fabric mustard green and then painted the discharge on very loosely with a fat paint brush to cut back some of the colour. I printed over the top and added a few pearls to give it a little sparkle..I still think the colour needs attention and could do with out the pearls.
